Empowering and inspiring!
As a woman in today's world I find myself very discouraged and confused by the things I see and encounter. I currently work in corporate America at a company where the number of women in management and especially at the executive level is shockingly low. And it seems the women who are in any position of influence or power (real or imagined) don't want to help other women reach their potential. At the same time the people in the company that are on the front lines, that get the work done, that really know the company; they are looked down upon, not given opportunities, ignored, passed over and "not ready" for the things they want to do. It's disheartening and frustrating. Listening tho this podcast has helped me to understand some of the why's behind the things I see and experience. It has given me ideas and courage to stand up to the status quo, to stand up for myself and the things I know I can contribute and ask for the things I deserve (specifically a raise and more resources for my department). I have been sharing it with several co-workers and friends because the messages Alex shares need to be heard by men and women alike.
