I could barely understand what they were saying so I got very confused. Also I don’t like ads in podcasts, so I immediately stopped listening after about five minutes.

Too many "um"s and so many "This book is so good" comments. They sound amateurish.Read full review »

Not gonna lie used really enjoy this podcast…. But just heard an episode where they said conservative Christians were “the enemy”. Not cool. I’m both those things and I don’t mind you having your views so why do you have to demonize mine? Kind of frustrated with this. We are people too. Just...Read full review »

I am an avid YA reader, and sometimes I get sick of BookTube, Epic Reads, and other online bookish spaces because they recommend the same, mostly white, books on rotation. When I discovered this podcast, I found so many new recommendations in the first episode I listened to alone. Kelly and Eric...Read full review »

I just ordered 3 books based on this week’s episode!

As a Book Riot subscriber I took a chance and listened to Hey YA out of curiosity. I wasn’t familiar with YA literature before I started listening to Hey YA. Hannah & Kelly have made a new YA reader of me.

Does Eric Smith actually read books? Everything seems to be “on his list.” Including the books he recommends.

What annoys me about this pod is that the past few weeks, Eric has said he hasn’t had much time to read, but...Come on, dude, do your homework! As other reviews have stated, they need more substance in their shows. Every single segment can’t just be book recs. (They have a guest this week, which...Read full review »

Like the idea of this podcast - but seriously ind of the girls sounds like she would rather sleep or do something Else than this podcast...

I always look forward to my morning commute if a new episode of Hey YA is waiting for me. Kelly and Eric have such great chemistry and their laughter is contagious. I love hearing their recommendations for YA books and learning their inside jokes from previous episodes. They inspire me to keep...Read full review »

I love this podcast, both for its content, the expertise/enthusiasm of the hosts, and the additions to my TBR list it always gives me. This is a great podcasts for writers of YA who like to keep an ear to the ground as well as teenagers looking for something just right to read. The title itself...Read full review »

I like this pod a lot because I want to know what to read next. V informative with all the recommendations but... I wish there was more substance! Maybe do a couple episodes every quarter digging deep into a single book or two, with guests and a spoiler disclaimer? Also, a small note: Paper...Read full review »

It really bothered me that Kelly would say that she thought a book by a white author had good rep when people have taken issue with it, especially considering I think Kelly is white too? So how would she know if it's good rep? If people in the communities that are being represented are taking...Read full review »

This is my favorite YA-focused podcast. Before this one is yet to find one I really enjoyed and benefitted from. This has a nice balance of professionalism while still being fun and friendly, and I think the two hosts compliment each other nicely.

More insufferable crap from Book Riot. I don't know why I keep trying these podcasts. They come across like these overly pietistic people who talk softly and laugh softly and it's just kind of creepy. Real people don't exist that way. Okay maybe librarians do. But it comes across kind...Read full review »

I’m so sorry to leave a negative review, because I am a huge Book Riot fan. As a high school English teacher, I was so excited about a podcast dedicated to YA. I am a loyal listener to the Book Riot and All the Books podcasts, which I love. Eric and Kelly are very knowledgeable, I’m sure, but...Read full review »

I absolutely love this podcast. For a while I have been looking for a good, coherent YA podcast. Thank you Kelly and Eric for the awesome content. I think my favorite part about this podcast is the diversity of books. Some YA podcasts tend to only talk about the more popular books (Divergent,...Read full review »

This podcast lacks heart. I know it's early days but so far it just feels like the hosts are rattling off YA Titles, without any solid content or thoughts behind them. I haven't pulled a single "TBR" from this podcast (and I do love YA!). Maybe the show needs a few guests or a bit...Read full review »

The podcast itself is great: good audio, nice chemistry between the hosts, good energy. I really enjoy having more books to add to my ever growing pile to To Be Read. But please, please, PLEASE add show notes of all the books you mention, especially if it’s one you discuss somewhat at length....Read full review »
