Great conversational history
As others have noted, Adam does a fantastic job of researching each topic. I’ve studied a lot more Asian history than European history, which makes this podcast particularly helpful for me, because although his discussions of non-European history are also interesting, the European history episodes are where Adam’s deep subject knowledge really shines. The conversational format prevents the monotone drone effect that can be a problem for even the best solo shows. Of course, conversational podcasts can easily veer wildly off topic. Fortunately, Adam is skilled at bringing the conversation back to the main topic when this happens.

I love the podcast. I’m not a big fan of podcasts where people talk to each other , I prefer storytelling but this one of different from all the chatty podcasts. I really love the way the host looks deep inside the topics. But my cats absolutely hate the theme music.

Generally 2 episodes for each topic and a huge variety of topics...Read full review »
