Favorite history podcast
This surpasses Dan Carlin for me as far as entertaining history podcasts. The fact that the episodes are broad but also narrow in focus is great because you get the same sense you get after reading a book on an obscure subject. The podcast also does the format of “one guy explains history to a stand in for the audience” better than anyone because it’s not played for laughs and the guest is truly listening and asking questions, not playing for laughs. I have a tough time listening to anything else now, the scripted pods are too droll and the conversational ones are just comedic readings of Wikipedia. My only complaint is that when they went from biweekly releases to monthly my heart broke, but I absolutely understand that it’s a free product that takes an incredible amount of time and work and that the longer format can only help. But if this thing grows enough that it could be a job I would love for it to be more frequently. Regardless, I hope this gets the fan base it deserves and bravo!

A few years ago, got very interested in the fall of the USSR and found this podcast. Have been listening ever since. Awesome job 👏

I love the podcast. I’m not a big fan of podcasts where people talk to each other , I prefer storytelling but this one of different from all the chatty podcasts. I really love the way the host looks deep inside the topics. But my cats absolutely hate the theme music.

This Podcast is worth a listen. Many history Podcasts tend to just scratch the surface. This one takes a more comprehensive narrative approach that is worth a listen if you have the time. I can really tell the host takes great care in preparing for the discussions. Keep up the good work!
