How wind works is that hot air rises and the cool air comes to take its place. And in the same way, we believe every time we step into a place, whatever has been dry, whatever has been hard, whatever has been harsh lifts... and the cool, refreshing power of the spirit comes in. And in the same way, Jesus was speaking to us and when you have the Spirit of God, you'll step into an atmosphere. You'll be able to discern the spirit of God, and it will lead you to where there is luck, to where...

Looking at the early church in Acts, we can learn a lot from their successes and failures. We observe how they handled false teaching, demonstrated love and unity, particularly through prayer. We focus on what is the true marker of being a disciple and how we can work that out today.

What did Jesus want us to know after the resurrection? When we read the bible as followers of Jesus Christ, we often see that they made mistakes in the Bible. When they got it wrong, we could see the impact had devasting consequences on communities worldwide. And when they got it right, we also see how much impact the stories had that they told about the teachings of Jesus, the life of Jesus, the birth of Jesus, the resurrection of Jesus and how much it impacted society throughout history.  ...

Jesus is the way. Where does this come from? Jesus Himself? He says in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me." In the Greek it's translated in 2 ways. A literal translation is a way or a pathway but metaphorically, it means of manner of thinking, speaking, a manner of living behaviour and a way of life. So when we're looking at "Jesus is the way", this is what we are talking about. 

God is calling us to ascend. This year we are focusing on stepping into a divine partnership with God. That might require us to climb some mountains and go higher and ascend to the holy place. If we want to see what God wants to do in us, and if we want to see what God wants to do through us, we have to climb some mountains. We need to get quiet, be still and go to the mountain with God.

It was such an incredible service that we had to share it with all of you.  So much of our world is upside down at the moment and it has started to confuse the boundary lines of our beliefs and where we stand as believers. There are times in our lives when God speaks to us and promises us something and all we have to hold is the promise that he gave us. We're always excited to receive and see the promise come to pass, but what happens on the journey to the promise? And how can we keep God at the center of everything, and not make it all about the promise?

Sometimes we think a 'no' to the world is a 'yes' to God. We think a life of 'no' is constricting and confining, but could it release us into what God has for us? There's a 'yes' that God has for us. There's more that He has for us. There's a life that He has for us, a mission and a purpose.

This is a message for everyone who has carried a lot in 2023. It might have been carrying a lot at work, in your family life or dealing with the punches that life throws.
