Guaranteed to offend the Bible Thumpers
Listened to the first few podcasts up to the time of Abraham. Unlike some podcasts which give the official doctrine as dictated by some holier than thou fire and brimstone preachers who want their own television show because their mega-church isn't quite big enough, this podcast digs in deep for the open-minded and gives an explanation of the sources of the material in the Bible, when it was written, by whom, and for which group of people. The politics of the times comes into play just like today and the influence of the politics is pointed out. And you were thinking the Bible has no politics? Guess again. On the other hand if you are one of those brainwashed non-thinkers who goes to church every Sunday and blindly sits there listening to what the preacher has to say without much of anything to back it up other than "because the Bible said so," then move along and don't waste your time here, as you clearly are unable to make your own decisions and this podcast will definitely offend you. By the way, which Bible said so?Read full review »

A rigorous, scientific analysis of the history portrayed in the bible, but looking at non-bible sources for parallels. Also looks closely at how bible was written, compiled. First episodes are on Old Testament. Quite religiously neutral so far.

Easy to listen to yet informative. Suitable for those new to Christianity/Judaism or those who have previous knowledge. I’m an ex-Christian now atheist and absolutely LOVE this show.
