Excellent & prescient
As a White southerner, identifying and un-learning the deep-rooted fantasy version of our history steeped in white supremacy from an upbringing in the rural US South is a life-long exercise. ‘History is US’ is a vivid, compelling presentation that draws a straight line from the politics of today to the actions of the past, but what Eddie Glaude (and a team of fantastic historians and producers) do is something more important than just recount the history horrors inflicted on black Americans: it is a reminder of both the the strength and determination that allowed black Americans not just to survive, but to do so without losing joy. As the podcast says, democracy — as well as hope — is not a state of being, it is an action. Highly recommend.

Don’t these people receive a salary? Don’t think listening audience cares who is helping with producing...Read full review »
