I did not (really) understand globalism, terrorism, the significance of Brexit, or globalism until I took this course. This lecturer is excellent at teaching, and has a balanced conceptual framework he sues to teach. Disapointed with your university education? Take this course.

Interesting and engaging content. Great scaffolding of historical events lecture-by-lecture. Extremely knowledgable lecturer. Perfect duration (~50 min a lecture). Very clear audio. Give it until WWI content and YOU WILL BE HOOKED. This is my SECOND time to listen to it in 2 years.

This series was a fascinating and engrossing overview of international history for the 20th century (with a bit before and after). Recommended, especially if you have plenty of commuting time to fill.

It is impossible to distinguish Prof. Sheehan's voice from that of comedian Bill Mahr. At times, this is eery. Aside from that, the series is a tour de force. Its conceptualization around the pre- and post-wars order is brilliant, and Prof. Sheehan is a very fine speaker and teacher. Two...Read full review »

Very good course, and great for audio. He references a few maps here and there, but it's not so often that you feel like you need the video. A really great iTunes U course. Definitely speed him up.Read full review »

Great lecture series! I am using it to review events of the 20th Century leading up to the Cold War for my own teaching and really enjoyed the entire course. Fabulous to be able to download and listen to these lectures while commuting!

Great lecture series, worth each minute. I recommend using the iPhone app and increasing the speed up to 1 1/2. I'm just delighted that this is available online, i'll be sharing it with my friends.Read full review »

This is an excellent series detailing the key events that shaped the international system throughout the twentieth century. Sheehan has a talent for communicating and analysing these events using an international perspective.

Professor Sheehan has a great style, easy to listen to and extremely informative. An interesting syllabus builds on themes of sovereignty and the challenges to it between the post-War period and today.

This is a very good introduction to 20th Century History, albeit from a slightly North American centric poisition. The lecturer is obviously very familiar with his material and has a very organized presentation that aids subsequent recall. Finally, this course is very well recorded, with none of...Read full review »
