History of the World to 1500 CE
Prof. Bulliet is engaging and funny. He ranges widely over all the globe, more thematically than chronologically. He's especially interesting on technology and animals. His refreshing perspective resists the traditional narrative which attributes almost all advances in civilization to the Europeans; he shows how diverse and creative humanity has always been. Rather than learning specific names and dates, the focus is more on thinking about how to tell humanity's story, what to include, what to leave out, what to compare and contrast. I recommend this course highly to anyone interested in history.

I have listened to part of a lecture and found it to be interesting and informative. It is, however, not intesting enough to warrant downloading such a huge file. Make it audio only and i will listen to all the lectures with interest. 300+ megs per lecture is just too much to invest. Londo
