So this is an amazing podcast, I’ve learned so much I did not know about! However I’m concerned as I’m not able to listen to either of the episodes pertaining to Charlie Chaplain.. it says episode 3 and 9 are unavailable??? Apple please explain!

Oona is a beautiful narrator. Tends to go off on tangents but the stories of Chaplin , Trumbo and Greer show that the apple pie and picket fence view of America hid a Stasi style state where playing a tramp could get you exiled or worse , going to the wrong party put you on a blacklist. Thank you...Read full review »

What an amazing podcast - full of very interesting twists and turns, I relistened to several episodes to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. Oona has a beautiful voice that draws you in right from the first moment. The whole podcast is so very well done!!

Oona Chaplin tells a chilling story in a way that would do her grandfather proud: empathetic, thoughtful and captivating!

I really enjoyed listening to this podcast- the sound, narration, and story lines are all excellent. I have watched biographical episodes about Charlie Chaplain’s life but had no idea about Hoovers interest in his career. His granddaughter is objective and fair in giving us a background of his...Read full review »

This story is so important in our history and many Americans, including myself, had little knowledge of it. I love the perspective she brings as the grand daughter of Charlie Chaplin. Narration is beautiful, interviews are telling, story impactful. I hope to hear more from Oona!

Excellent story about a time we “think” can’t happen again. Oona Chaplin tells the story of her grandfather, Charlie Chaplin. She is such an amazing podcaster, her voice is smooth and silky. I have thoroughly enjoyed this podcast.

Nice to hear such a well paced telling of the events leading to the red scare. I’m also a big Chaplin fan for better or worse and can appreciate some of the on location stuff. Still haven’t gotten through his autobiography though, book is too big. Also Oona Chaplin’s voice is smooth like butter....Read full review »

Wow. Just terrible. I like history, but I only made it 5 minutes before I just couldn’t take it anymore, which is not how I usually operate. Narrator playing on her family: self-aggrandizement: if I could give this zero stars, I would. Please, for those of us who like history, cancel and try...Read full review »

Brilliant podcast! Let’s think critically for once. Why is the French word for “left” a synonym for evil? (For those who don’t know, it’s “sinister”) This is not coincidental! We are products of social conditioning. Breaking out of this conditioning is akin to “rising like a lion after slumber”....Read full review »

What an incredible thrill to hear this story unfold from the Chaplin family. The research is thorough and the access Oona has, I would imagine, has been closed to others trying to tell this story. I can’t wait to listen to these when they come out. Having spent over 40 years studying Chaplin this...Read full review »

When I walked around Elephant&castle in the 1980s, there were so much evidence of the history of Charlie Chaplin. There was a pub in his name, and people knew him his history. I know what they say about him and younger women….. but it’s never simple as black or white history, lives are...Read full review »
