“I started listening after leaving my job to stay home with my first child. I’ve watched the Elliott Homestead on YouTube for years. I was very interested in what Shaye and Angela had to share about the art of homemaking and appreciated their message about the value of this important role and taking your job seriously. I’ve started “choosing my hard” which means getting up earlier and looking put together. I’m more productive and generally more cheerful about this role that has a lot of repetition and butt wiping.
I’ve listened to more than half the episodes while doing chores around the house, but I’m unsubscribing. They have some good tips but it’s getting harder to “spit out the bones” as Shaye says. They’re not afraid of getting canceled because they know their audience:
-white
-homeschooling
-Christian
-anti-vaxxers/science deniers
-conservative
-libertarian
-conservative
These conversations are not inclusive of BIPOC people, members of the LGBTQ community, people who are poor, or people who are fat (heaven forbid!).”
