Description
Hi wine nerds!  Welcome to Episode 20! I'm so happy that this little passion project has made it to twenty episode that I decided to celebrate by talking about one of my favourite celebratory wines: Bordeaux. Maybe you're like me and you sit awake at night wondering about the history and evolution of French wine into the international market.. or maybe you are sipping on a Pinot Noir somewhere and thinking, "Hmmm... I kind of prefer wines with a little more body." Either way this episode is for you.  Just sit back and think of England.  I used some great resources for this episode:  The Oxford Companion to Wine by Jancis Robinson.  The Complete Bordeaux by Stephen Brook.  Inside Bordeaux by Jane Anson.  Jane Anson is a legend! Check her out!  I talked about so many Chateaux this week that I am not going to name them all. Instead I will leave you with this:  https://www.winespectator.com/articles/the-1855-bordeaux-classification-3491 But don't forget that Chateau Chasse Spleen in the Moulis en Medoc is not part of the 1855 classification!  If you spot something that needs correcting or you would like to request an episode you can reach out at [email protected] or check out the House Wine Instagram @housewinepodcast  This podcast is 100% independent, it is written, narrated and produced by myself, Rachael so if you heard something you liked then scroll down and leave a comment or review, that is the best way that you can support the show.  Until next week, I hope you drink something delicious!  Music Credit: Too Cool by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4534-too-cool License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

This episode is called Cyprus but it really should be called Cyprus AKA Commandaria, the story of the worlds oldest wine still made today. We cover a lot in 23 minutes with this one - The Crusades, Monks, PDO laws, native grapes but I think that the real take away here is that if you come across...
