There are so few successful writers who are willing to pull back the curtain on the writing life, so I feel very grateful to Rachael for doing just that. Guests are working writers who reveal personal specifics about habits, struggles and best practices. There are also solo episodes (my fave)...Read full review »

I wanted to like this podcast, and the host gets many interesting guests. But her soapy, sycophantic, buttery, ingratiating praise of guests is too much to stomach.

I wanted to like this podcast. Herron has a lovely voice, which is rare among female podcasters. But a few minutes into the show, she started talking about something she had said in a previous show, and I think her intention was to make nice with people she had burned, ie conservatives or...Read full review »

When I envision myself as a “famous” author someday day, I make sure Rachael is my best friend. Her advice, vulnerability, and interviews have me checking my podcast app every Friday. Sometimes before coffee. And if that statement doesn’t convince you that is podcast is a must listen, nothing will.

I’ve just listened to my very first episode and I have to say that even though you didn’t have to, even though I wasn’t looking for it, and even though others might say you have no business doing this on a writing podcast, I thought that it was brave and progressive of you to touch on the current...Read full review »
