Gene Dykes got into running at 58 yrs old and he just keeps getting better. At 70 years old he is running sub 3 hour marathons while finishing ultramarathons including the Triple Crown of 200s, a series of three 200 mile mountain races in less than 3 months. In 2018, Gene beat the world record marathon time for 70+ in 2:54, but because the race wasn't sanctioned it didn't count as a world record. We discuss training, diet, OKFs, 2019 plans and why it is important to excel at something.

Sabrina Redden is an ultrarunner and a single mother of 6. She manages to juggle her children's activities and day to day needs with a outdoor centric lifestyle, ultrarunning, and school. Two of Sabrina's children completed ultramarathons as minors and the whole family is very involved in the ultrarunning scene racing and crewing. The Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim (R2R2R) has historically been a place for ultra runners to test their skills & endurance against the best in the world. The route is approx 42 miles from S. Kaibab Trail to N. Kaibab & back to S. Kaibab with 11,000 ft of climbing.
