Wow
I never would’ve chosen this podcast. It was recommended by RedHanded. This is a very touchy subject for me personally, child sexual abuse. My mother was abused from age five to thirteen by her father. He was also abusing her other three sisters. He spent a long time in prison. The sad thing is it completely ruined my mother’s life AND tainted mine. You will never understand the revulsion and sickness of listening to your drunk mother giving specific details to you while you are way too young to handle it. However this podcast is way more than that and you are spared most details. It made me think about the real people that go after these sites. How it must eat at their soul. Hopefully those that actually view the pictures are good at compartmentalism. Like Paul, for example. It all must seem hopeless, like stepping on a line of ants with no end in site. I also feel awful for Faulkner’s parents. He may be a monster but he is still their son. I can’t imagine it is easy to wrap your head around and not give excuses . I was worried that was what we were going to hear. I learned so much and it made me think quite a bit. The production and writing was stellar. Also, go Jen!! I absolutely know that strange tug and the strange underlining panic that seems make you walk faster. Parents should always listen to that, even though it never makes sense. You may eventually find out, even years later...I did.
