Not helpful
Being healthy but over 40 and having gestational diabetes, I was told I would be induced at 39 weeks. Having known two friends whose placenta's started failing at 40 weeks (one resulting in a stillbirth) I was ok with the decision to be induced. I was positive and knew I would work with my body, baby and medical staff (including great midwife). I have also been practicing hypnobirthing from another source other than here to get my mind ready. Listening to the first episode of Kathryn Clark's Hypnobirthing, made me feel like a failure, and that I would not experience any positive aspects to birthing and that essentially I was settling a degraded experience. I think some of the ideas in this podcast are helpful, others are unthoughtful, naive, and potentially dangerous.

Great information just so boring to listen too!

After a previous caesarean I’ve been strongly recommended a hospital birth. Kathryn has scared the crap out of me for hospital births! Thanks!

Being someone who hopes for a home birth, already convinced I want to avoid a hospital birth, and sure of the benefits of hypnobirthing, I felt disappointed at how negative and scaremongering so much of it was. I didn’t respect this at all.
