I do like this podcast. I recommend it to my students but the latest one about university route not being suitable for those joining the police wasnt challenged. For many young people I teach the apprenticeship is their first experience of Uni/work life which is amazing. Annoyed at the episode as...Read full review »

Not quite as bad as their fake tv programme but nearly.

This was a really interesting series with insightful accounts and discussions of different types of crime and criminality by the two clearly very informed hosts plus a variety of really interesting guests. The professor has a manner of speaking that takes some getting used to, but I rather liked...Read full review »

Fascinating but the editing is horrendous

Title says it really. Editing is also sub-par.

I really enjoy this podcast, the editing has to be improved however. Some conversations get cut off or repeat themselves. Minor criticism but it can be easily fixed.

The criminologist presenter has such an irritating manner. There’s something so smug and patronising about him. Same on TV. He does have some good insights, but nowhere near as amazing as he thinks they are. I couldn’t listen to the whole series.

Such a shame that we have to hear a painful, drawn out, somewhat self centred conversation of what is to come in the episode, as opposed to actually listening to the guests sooner. They need to up the pace, and get to the interesting guests and the chap needs to allow the focus to be on someone...Read full review »

Really fascinating interviews and insights. Absolutely loved the prison riots and the heist episode. Such an interesting new take on true crime. The professor doesn’t have a great presenting style though, would be a bit better if they both sounded more natural and not just reading from papers,...Read full review »

I must admit I was drawn in by the professor angle and I was expecting a thoughtful look at how society has become obsessed with the darkest of actions. I tried a few episodes. Alas, the professor (slowly) talks a great deal about himself and his opinions, lingers over the gory parts and doesn’t...Read full review »

Latest episode on prison riots, and prison reform, had me listening to every word. It’s great to hear proper discussion on reform, and how the country’s justice system is completely aimed at vengeance and knowing that others out there have these opinions does give me hope.

Sadly I find Professor David Wilson’s presentation style unbearable. Does he talk in that patronisingly slow plodding way because he thinks his audience is thick or is it simply because he is thick?

Just discovered this little gem, and binged the series to date - would recommend

Love all of these but last weeks one was posted from the week before. Please let us know when it’s been corrected

Thank you for fixing the podcast.

This week’s episode is the same as last weeks, I think it’s been put up in error.
expogto via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 07/14/21
Is deadlier than the male the exact same podcast as last week?
olliehanaphy via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 07/14/21
Great podcast, although the 12th July edition is a repeat of the 5th July!

Deadlier than male is the previous episode reuploaded.

This weeks episode is the same as last week’s has the wrong one been uploaded?

I’ve been enjoying this, but the latest ep (12th July) is actually last week’s. Error in posting? Be great to have it replaced with the one described, ‘Deadlier Than The Male’…
podsinlondon via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 07/12/21
I’m really enjoying this series and the guests are great. But… please don’t extend the pre-amble too much. Also, why is deadlier than the male actually just a repeat of last weeks episode?

So good, loved the guests and their honesty so far, really interesting and different to the usual true crime podcast. Looking forward to more!

Gave it 10mins but presenters were still talking about themselves.

Great podcast. Insightful, informative and entertaining. A most listen if you enjoy true crime

Refreshing to hear a True Crime show that isn't just 2 True Crime fans chatting about their favourite cases.....whilst drinking! If the guests for future episodes are anythign like the guy on the first show, it's going to be a fantastic listen.Read full review »

Nice to find a podcast with a slightly different angle to the true crime genre instead of ‘more if the same’. Very well written and fantastic presentation
