Thank you Thank you - So impressed!!
Just listened to Imani on “The Suga” podcast. Learned about Imani’s show after an ad during “Levar Burton Reads” - (had to shoutout that show) But LOVED listening to Imani. The conversation was comforting and helpful! I have known for a few years now that I NEED to seek therapy due to “childhood adversity”/ trauma. (The Deepest Well - Dr. Nadine Burke Harris) But let me tell you. My journey to find that help has been SO HARD. Not because help doesn’t exist, but actually because of trying to break through the family roadblocks, & not religious roadblocks but family’s interpretation of religion. Also, monetary roadblocks and to be frank... the perceived that I will have finding the right health provider. “ It feels daunting and emotional and like I simply don’t have the time or PATIENCE to speak to another bad - or bad fit - therapist. BUT, at this point, after listening to this show. I have renewed vigor to seek the help I NEED because ...it’s okay... and its necessary. And I’m SO EXCITED that I will have this resource as a supplement to the other professional & and natural help I WILL find. Thank you Imani for the work you have already done. And thank you for the impact you have ALREADY made.

Lots of good information and perspectives given along side humor. I enjoyed this very much. Heard about it from Funky Dineva.

Actually, a show for ALL times, but with the stress we’re all facing now (global pandemic, election, inequality, policing issues, etc), many of us are feeling mental fatigue - if not outright mentally unwell. This show explains mental health issues and illnesses in such a relatable way, often...Read full review »
