Not Just What Happened But Why It Happened
A year after LA Council President Nury Martinez was mired in a career ending scandal, she comes to the microphone to try and explain the remarks that were surreptitiously recorded during a fateful covert meeting with colleagues intent on redistricting the City of Los Angeles in a manner most favorable to their careers. This is a true journalistic coup and left the august LA Times reduced to recounting the podcast’s reporting. It’s a fascinating look behind the scenes of a City Council which saw 8 of its 15 members disgraced in less than five years. Highly recommended.
