“First of all this podcast is fantastic — the main narrator is perfect for audio media, I love listening to her speak, her voice is soothing — easily conversational and never robotic, and everything she says is extremely well-written…basically the entire production is just excellent journalism, I think that’s the best way to describe it because it’s never offensive and yet somehow also never boring, and most importantly it inspires my interest and compels me to learn more about the subject matter, which I firmly believe is the most pressing and critical social problem that currently exists in this country. So I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone and everyone, no matter you they are, because if you’re a human being — and particularly if you live in the United States of America — I can guarantee your life is being impacted by this problem in a myriad of ways, some of which you might not even realize.
All that said, I am a former OC resident but a few months ago I pulled my eject lever (metaphorically speaking) and moved north to LA because I was absolutely fed up with people like the idiots in this podcast. I’ve only been gone for four and half months but apparently my busy little brain has been hard at work behind the scenes trying to forget those horrible people (which were basically all of my neighbors in Huntington Beach and all of the business owners around my office in Anaheim Hills) so when I heard them on the podcast I had a shockingly visceral reaction, I almost threw up and had a panic attack at the same time. And then honestly it was really hard to go back and continue listening but I did it anyway and then I came here to read the reviews and that just completely restored my faith in humanity, everything everyone else has written thus far is reflective of my thoughts and feelings especially in regards to those people, so I feel much better about it now that I know I’m not alone or even in the minority. Thanks everyone.”
