In our time
Brilliant show. Melvyn Bragg had this amazing knack of making the contributors get to the point of the argument in question by asking timely and pertinent questions. He also insists on a language that is clear and accessible to the audience, most of whom are not experts in the field. His presentation is direct and he often modulates the contributors when they are going off course in one of their academic rambles - which academics are sometimes prone to, alas.

Great choice of topics in that there’s something for everyone. Melvyn is good at drawing out the academics but I wish he didn’t keep interrupting them to show off his tiny bit of knowledge. Fortunately the repeats have these edited out.

Melvyn Bragg uses unacceptable behavior with women: rude, domineering, interrupting, and foolish, useful questions. Please seek another host.

I enjoy the freedom from limbic high-jack techniques.
