A Film Podcast with a Mission
JD and Brendan try to elevate the discussion of films with lengthy dialogue and deep knowledge. These guys have a good rapport but also know their techniques. They don't merely gush about recent films or dump on the ones they dislike, they actually try to explain why they feel the way they do. The talk and vocabulary is sometimes a bit overdone, I think you can sound intelligent without relyng on as many crutch phrases of cinephiles, but they usually have a good point inspite of the occassional pedantic moment. With two shows a week and each show almost two hours, you will get as much insight as you need to carry on a conversation on your own about the same films. I may not ever see the Indian Cinema or Italian Neo-realism that crops up occassionally but I like listening to it being discussed and these guys make it worth your while. Add the InSession Film Podcast to your weekly listening time and you will be rewarded.Read full review »
