Smug ex civil servants carp
It is remarkable how often we are told of the wonderful work civil servants are doing (growth of the civil service provides promotion opportunities!) whilst politicians are routinely disparaged for not being up to the job. Jill Rutter regularly treats the EU as competent when compared with the British, with hardly any credit given to the UK for attempting to chart a new path. Dreadfully smug. But an extra star because some guests provide useful insights.

More reviews of INSIDE BRIEFING with Institute for Government
The best podcast I’ve found to get behind the headlines for nuanced, thoughtful and practical comment as to what’s actually happening and the reasons behind it. All the politics without the politicians. Authoritative and refreshing!
