“There are a few Madonna podcasts out there, and what makes this one such an enjoyable and informative listen is the willingness to go beyond mere stanning to really considering Madonna as an artist; as a writer and producer.
There are some great guests and perspectives, and a really terrific host who has warmth, insight and gets the best out of his guests.
The ONLY thing I would change (and why I’ve knocked a star off) is ironically the use of Madonna! Her songs are sometimes shoved on a repetitive instrumental loop in the background of conversations and after a while it can become a little grating. When the discussion is interesting enough, in and of itself, it doesn’t need the same few bars of “Music” placed behind it for half an hour. A short sprinkling of contextual or illustrative clips would work a lot better and be a bit more engaging. But otherwise it’s terrific.”
