Smart, tough, and going away for good…
I am very sorry to hear this podcast is going away. Although I only recently discovered this series, I am far better educated on the state of EVs in the US and the world as a result. I especially valued the final incarnation of the panel, with the Brits adding an important international and global perspective. The Americans acquitted themselves well also. Something I had not appreciated was how a show like this would be caught up in the culture wars, assuming that if you're interested in EVs you would know why we need to stop burning fossil fuels. But I was forgetting who owns Tesla and his evidently cultish followers. So I was very surprised when Lacee, who clearly is smart, said climate played no role in her views on EVs. This is indefensible, but since even here in capitalist America the ultimate goal is to get everybody on board with respect to EVs I suppose making a case from a purely selfish perspective may be what sells. Even so, her intellectual position is awkward. The other American Patrick George's ideological stance was somewhat less contorted, but he also showed some trimming of his ideological sails. I bring this up to urge that if and when this show makes its reappearance, please show the same courage and intelligence demonstrated in assembling this panel.
