Description
The show is packed with wisdom and insight from a woman that has shattered the glass ceiling. Jennifer Cohen just completed her first year as the Athletic Director at the University of Washington. Her successes are directly reflected in the outstanding year that the UW athletic department had from a NCAA championship in women’s rowing this past month to a college football playoff appearance. Her athletic department is on the rise there is no doubt that the success is attributed and rooted in her leadership and vision. Jen is from the Tacoma, WA area and grew up a Husky fan, which she will tell you more about. She went on to graduate from San Diego State University in 1991 followed by earning her master’s degree at Pacific Lutheran Univeristy. She served in athletics admistration at Pacific Lutheran, U of Puget Sound, and Texas Tech before being hired by UW in ’98. She oversaw sports including football and baseball and played a huge role in fundraising where she was tasked with raising support for their stadium expansion. When Jen was hired last May as the next AD of UW, she became the only female AD in the Pac-12 and only 1 of 4 female Athletic Director’s in the nation out of 65 power 5 Universities.
