What a great concept!! Poetry playlist - no into, no commentary, no title or poets’s name - just experience the poems as is - no preconceptions. Love it! (Title and poet’s names are provided at the end).

This is a fantastic concept for a podcast, and it is incredibly well executed. I’ve been introduced to great poems, and hearing why each interesting person has chosen the poem offers meaningful context. A true joy every time I see a new episode.

This podcast provided endless pleasure and joy. The daily small snippets of poetry while I walk inform my writing, thinking, and teaching. I also really appreciate hearing a variety of folx share poems important to them and explain how they “read” and apply these poems to their lives. Make more...Read full review »

This is a lovely podcast! I love the structure of hearing the poems, then hearing how the reader undestands it. Such a great way to enjoy poetry

Background music too distracting and loud. Leave it out.

This podcast feels to me like NPR's The Moth and the poetry genre had a baby. Love the mix of true life stories and raw, quick-written poetry. As a poet and podcast junkie, Interesting People Reading Poetry is one of my favorite podcasts!Read full review »

I happened upon this podcast while looking for poetry, and after listening to several other poetry podcasts, I keep coming back to this one. I really like the format of poem + commentary + poem again. It helps me appreciate the poetry more deeply. The guests and their choices are deftly curated....Read full review »

The podcast is a thought-provoking blend of inspiring guests reading the poems that inspire them to a great soundtrack. The short poems by listeners at the end of each episode creates a spirit of interaction and inclusion for listeners. I always leave the podcast better than I began it.

IPRP feels like a deep inhale, a porch sit, a late-night conversation with a long-time loved one. It's well-produced, but beyond that, the subject matter is both fascinating and important. Plus, I'm really into the hybrid "interview / poetry reading" format. Listen.Read full review »
