This podcast is heavily biased, and feels like purposeful PR for the figures discussed. In episode 1 Host credits Andreesen with creating the VC blueprint that had been in play in Silicon Valley for about 50 years by the time Andreesen came along. In episode 2 the host credits James Clark as...Read full review »

I wanted to learn more about the history and workings of bitcoin and found this podcast. The guys are great to listen to. They are funny, able to present to laypeople, but are very informative. Highly recommend!

I recently came across a book called “how the internet happened” and being a 40-something with a distant memory of dial-up modems and using Netscape, was intrigued enough to buy it...and I devoured it. I found out, while reading a review of said book, that there was a podcast called “History of...Read full review »

If you happen to be an amateur geek who, like me, is also a history buff, the Internet History Podcast absolutely hits the sweet spot. I'm hooked by the first few eposides of this podcast. It's a story I didn't know much about, and it's so well told. You get a real insight into the personalities that forged the Internet we know today.Read full review »

Brian has done an outstanding job cobbling together a cohesive story of how the internet happened from the initial Cambrian explosion to the bombed out ashes of the bust to present day phenomena like the iPhone. Highly recommend.

Like Brian McCullough, I lived through this time. While I never had the courage (or the connections) to join a start-up, I remember all of this. I taught, for a couple of years, at a local community college and, as part of my curriculum, I had students watch the BBC series on the history of...Read full review »

Maggie Mahar's trenchant analysis in episode 67 contextualizing the dot-com craze as just one dislocated leg in Wall Street's decades-long march toward the stampede of a destructive bull market that nearly shattered the 1st world's wheels of commerce asunder in 2008 was the best...Read full review »

I love this podcast. I think I like the history summary episodes the best but many of the interviews are great too. The internet is 20+ years old now. Those that don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it. And I am not talking about your internet search history.

Really great interviews with interesting people, but the sound mixing is terrible. He should invest in a better mixer to equalize the volume through the podcast.

What an awesome podcast. Great listen for those who were on the web when it started as well as for those who want to get a better understanding how we got to where we are now - internet wise.

I am biased of course, having been involved in this history - with a very tiny contribution. I came across the podcast a few months ago and it was the only one I listened to, binging on it during my commutes, until the last episodes. Thanks Brian for this great program and project!

I’ve been listening to Brian’s podcast for sometime now. It’s so important to capture this history. These lives, moments, stories and achievements are so fleeting. If it wasn’t for Brian’s podcasts these moments could be lost forever.
