“Recently, I kept landing interviews but not getting the job (probs because I kept winging them, and feeling like I was flailing). It led me to look into interview advice, which is how I landed on Interview Boss. And omg. I listened to almost their entire catalogue of episodes and they changed my whole world. I now see the process SO differently, and it doesn't feel anywhere near as mysterious as it once did. I applied their interview tips recently and wow. I asked for the glass of water, used the star method in my answers, aimed to tell a succinct story rather than try to fill in time, used their clever ways to get around tricky questions, brought my notes which I referred to in the interview, didn't show my cards too quickly on the salary I wanted.. etc etc. The interviewers made it very clear how impressed they were, and after calling my referees, they offered me the job with a pay $7k higher than their usual starting rate for people with my degree! I also got helpful advice for navigating the counter offer I received from my current workplace - and now I get to sort of keep my current job as a casual side hustle. I've recommended this podcast to SO many people - I have literally never encountered such a helpful podcast and I think these two deserve a whoooole lot of credit for their simple and effective advice. They even replied to my instagram DM the night before my interview to help me with a question, which was so sweet and thoughtful. Thank you so so so much ladies, because of you I've been able to leave my current job and move to my DREAM workplace which is going to be a really big help in my career as a Master's of science student working towards building experience in research.
