“Superficial discussion full of emotion and less full of analysis. Anything women related is dismissed as petty or ‘cattish’. Host has pretence to know everything better than everyone and sniggers constantly.
Dull, uninsightful, boomer-man centric”
“Can be an informative podcast but very much middle-aged male-focused. Any issues that relate to women are dealt with in a skittish “can’t say anything anymore” way, which seems very much a relic from the past.”
“Really excellent episode. In particular Una Mullally’s points about discourse, racism not being challenged and framing immigration from the perspective of those not in favour of immigration were really thought provoking. Please talk more about these points. Law and order discussion also really...”Read full review »

“At last we have found an area where Sinn Fein reps are free to take individual action - namely legal action against the media - it’s from top as always”
“The most recent episode was the funniest podcast I’ve listened to in quite a while (nod to Pat’s impressions. More please. Spinout pod perhaps?) As a recent emigrant, Inside Politics keeps me feeling engaged and connected with Ireland.”

“Wasn’t it great to have Harry explain the book to us all. Including the author. More of Ms Moore would’ve been an interesting listen. Looking forward to reading her book.”
“I’ve bee listening to this podcast for several years. The voices of Hugh Linehan and Pat Leahy are a real God send for me. They have become so familiar to me with their engaging, often very humorous and fascinating examination of Irish politics. I’m an Australian who lives Politics generally, and...”Read full review »

“…with Ireland and Irish current affairs from wherever you are. The hosts never lose sight of the effect the Leinster House game has on the Irish people, from housing to civil rights to the environment. Especially love the end-of-the-week selection of articles.”

“I only leave this review in the hopes the podcast will improve and not just to be negative.
The huge amount of ‘Ummm’ ‘Ehhhh’ and slowly saying the same word twice in row makes this impossible to listen to!”

“On the ditch is the publication that broke the Story on Robert Troy you failed to mention funded by Paddy Cosgrave whilst the IT was writing smear pieces about Paddy.
Truly weird journalism when a main publication gets dragged by the ears to do a story on political corruption.
Stay classy IT”

“Can be insightful at times but also suffers from the ‘best of buddies doing the podcast’ syndrome. Terribly lazy journalism on show in the podcast featuring the IT journalist and the Fine Gael TD.”

“Excellent, never miss an episode. Now that I’ve got your attention, please please please can you talk to your tech team and improve the functionality of the IT app! There are lots of simple things you can do to make it much better that are in the reviews. Thanks!”
“Enjoy this podcast more than most as Hugh & Pat draw you in with their comfortable and natural way of discussing and exploring in depth topical events, while occasionally making hilarious digs at one another. All the journalists wear their erudition lightly and their easy camaraderie makes...”Read full review »

“A good and consistently informative pod. That said, I was surprised to hear Jennifer Bray argue in the 8th Dec episode that Chris Whitty (the U.K.’s chief medical officer) had a low profile in the U.K., contrasting this with his equivalent in Ireland. The research undertaken to support this point...”Read full review »

“Hugh Linehan & Pat Leahy may as well introduce your Irish Times Podcast as a hate fest on Sinn Fein. You two don’t hide your contempt for Sinn Fein.”

“Great show. Considered analysis.
Can you get Newton Emerson on more to talk about the North?
You used to have more guests as well, which I liked.
Keep it up.”

As someone who (shamefully) only became politically engaged while living abroad, I would appreciate a little more context/background along the lines The Daily by the New York Times gives to their topics....”Read full review »

“Saying goodbye to this podcast after the absurd easy ride given to Andrew Doyle. - is there a legitimate reason for Soc Dems & Labour to be two different parties?

“This has very quickly become my favourite podcast. It’s a very interesting and useful bite sized analysis of current events. Love the quick turnaround on release schedules to keep the topics relevant and the panels are always interesting. Would highly recommend.”
