Déjà Vu
First, let me say, I'm glad that a podcast with Black gay characters exist. It is important for a plethora of reasons. That being said, this podcast feels old and familiar, not fresh and groundbreaking. I remember being an undergrad in the early 90s. E. Lynn Harris and James Earl Hardy helped introduce the world to narratives of Black gay men, while giving voice to common experiences and complex of their lives. Fruit is reminiscent of E. Lynn and James' work. I enjoyed listening to the podcast, but it kind of felt like listening to rehashed early 90s Black gay fiction.Read full review »
