EP 124 Fear of Weight Gain
Listen now
Description
Fear of weight gain is often the biggest obstacle when recovering from an eating disorder and/or Hypothalamic Amenorrhea. The idea of deliberately gaining weight can feel cruel, unfair, wrong, insensitive, and morally corrupt. Often this way of viewing weight gain leads us to believe the risk of gaining weight isn’t worth the reward of being healthy. Im not going to lie there are some intense moments in this episode, especially when describing how the disordered self can present during the bad days of weight restoration. I think it's important to discuss and represent all experiences knowing that no matter how easy or difficult your personal experience is that the pursuit of living a healthy life is so worth it and no matter how misunderstood you may feel there is always someone ready to listen and help you through.
