I usually stay away from professional podcasts by big names but I made an exception for Sir Tony and it blew me away. Listened to them all in a day. Great stuff!

Love how it brings historical figures to life! Nice music & sound effects for a relaxing & easy listen, and very good narration.

I absolutely loved the first few episodes as it provided a bit of a look into people's lives in the past. But I've found that the latest episodes are just long, drawn out adverts without the interesting stories it started with.

Found out about these in another podcast and have found them very enjoyable. Like all things preferred some to others, I just wished the series was longer
Mi5sr3d via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 10/26/16
The content is really interesting delivered in a gentle and lyrical way, but each week the narrator seems to be getting further away from the microphone which is quite frustrating!

Very entertaining. Tony Robinson is great. I look forward to more.

If you have more than a passing interest in genealogy you'll find this very entertaining

Great stories, diverse topics, well read by the fantastic Sir Tony Robinson.

A lovely podcast delving into history and taking up some less obvious topics. Please do a second season.

Mr
Loving these, please keep them coming. Wonderful narration by Sir Tony Robinson and great little sound effects bring it all to life. Thank you!!
Battle1066 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 10/04/16
Ok, the subject matter is diverse, but it's interesting enough and Tony Robinson is as good as he always is. Baldrick discusses Luke Skywalker, how can that be bad?!

I stumbled on this podcast while working on Ancestry yesterday, and already have listened to 4 of the 5 episodes. Well written, produced and of course read - interesting stories chosen, and I very much look forward to more. While all were very good, I think I liked Episode 5, where Sir Tony...Read full review »

Excellent. We need more. Five is not enough.

Both entertaining and interesting
Insochmo via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/28/16
Was really excited about this, but so far it's poorly written and poorly produced, with little understanding of what makes a compelling narrative. Hope it improves.

Great podcasts, thoroughly enjoyed them. Hope you make some more. :)

Some of the stories are downright interesting (especially like the Pankhurst episode), others leave one thinking "Why is this important?" Would love a fleshed out introduction to episodes presenting the inquiry into these characters of history. Keep them coming! There is great potential for an...Read full review »

The stories in this podcast are great snippets of history that you probably have never heard and the British charm of Sir Tony Robinson make them that much more enjoyable to listen to. If you like quick bits of interesting history than this is a podcast you'll enjoy.
blake_ms via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/22/16
I love this subject. Plus it's Tony Robinson. Just listen to it.
Sigatsu via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/22/16
I thought this was poorly written, poorly edited and, sorry Sir Tony, but poorly read too. If you want to hear a decent history podcast listen to Dan Snow's History Hit.
Bill the guitarist via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/22/16
I love listening to it's about time, not only are the stories told beautifully but they are short episodes and so you are not flooded with so much information at once. I also enjoy how you do not necessarily need to know the original story as a brief version is told within the podcast. Definitely...Read full review »

Three stars, one for each of the first two or three podcasts. Starts really well for the first few episodes, although it's a bit random in its subject matter. By episode five it is a straight advert for a DNA analysis that comes out with the shock news that most people descended from Anglo...Read full review »

I have listened to a couple of these. Really great. I hope they keep making more. Interesting stories and great production. Its tied to Ancestry.com somehow- would actually like to hear more how the stories relate to data available on ancestry maybe?

These are great.. Tony Robinson and sound effects really brings the scenes to life. I would like to listen to more of these. Maybe make them just a wee bit longer, but not too much as they are so fab for fitting into my busy day!

Three very different episodes, the first being the most interesting. The episode on Chaplin was a bit of a documentary and lost my interest well before the end. The Pankhurst story had a mystery to be solved and new information from Australia, which helped things move along. But by far the most...Read full review »
