John “Slick” Baum is an experienced executive with a demonstrated history of innovation in the aerospace industry who is skilled in U.S. DoD, International Relations, Weapons System Development, Intelligence, Operational Planning, Campaign Communication and Strategic Leadership. “Slick” joins to share his story as a young kid who first saw the movie Top Gun and wanted to be a pilot. He then went from a 1980’s skateboarder/surfer with an eye for video and photography to becoming the youngest at the time to be selected to weapons school, which is the Air Force’s real-life version of Top Gun. A high-school graduate from Long Island, NY, he had enlisted in the Air Force because he was unable to afford college. After realizing the Air Force was a life he could live, “Slick” sought after mentorships and built relationships that would lead him to soar to literal new heights. After being diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and undergoing surgery to have his thyroid removed, “Slick” realized the importance of his health and relationships and guides us through visualizing your best life.
