Fascinating
A wonderful series which critically examines the foundations of the modern British state. It provides well researched thematic history of those formative years alongside myth busting of nostalgia. A great listen which is definitely helped by the great soundtrack and Roz’s smooth voice!

I'd no idea there was another series until someone on OGWN mentioned it so I'm now binge listening. These are insightful and interesting. I love Roz's (apologies if spelled incorrectly) style. Thank you!Read full review »

I have just listened to the first episode and learned so much! It drew so many strings together re. the war and our collective memory. Things I had read about in the past but never linked together to make a coherent history. Ros is a brilliant presenter too. I’m looking forward to the next episode!

It’s interesting and informative. Just one quibble is the weird voice filter on the quoted sections, which is very difficult to listen to and detracts from an excellent programme. Hope they remove that and just have those sections read.
