“This is a much needed podcast. Not everyone lives with a maestro how wonderful. I have been to the open air opera in Verona as a student. Now aged 55 I have the ‘opera bug’ so treated my husband to Madame Butterfly in Edinburgh last week having been inspired by the podcast. I loved it but sadly he fell asleep!!!! How is that possible at the opera…it’s not a quiet environment! He is emergency services worker so was very tired! I guess opera isn’t for everyone- he’s a hip hop fan and to be honest that is very powerful and emotive too in it’s own way. What does Steven think about the hip hop genre?
Joanna, I have just been delivered your book on Bhutan as a Valentine’s gift so I think we can forgive him regarding his opera snooze.
