“I didn't grow up going to church every Sunday and I really only went with my friends on the weekends. I never felt very close to God or very "in tune" with my spirituality. I have great parents, we just never went to church. Late one night, about 3 years ago, I ran across Joel Osteen on television and I've been hooked on his sermons ever since. He is motivational in his sermons and I think it's a brilliant way to get his points across. He's not too "preachy" and he brings a new way to present scripture to people. I'm currently 33 years old and I have to say that I truly thank Joel Osteen for doing what he does- as it really has allowed me to get to know myself a lot better- through God. Which is something I never expected to happen. I get something from every single one of his sermons. He may not be the right fit for everyone, but I certainly think he's got something very special.
