Description
In this episode Andrew chats with Rett Larson. Rett was the Strength and Conditioning coach for the 2016 Rio Olympics, Gold Medal winning, Chinese women’s volleyball team. A team that achieved the most popular sporting team in the whole of China with stars like Zhu Ting. If you type in “Rett La” on Google, immediately “Rett Larson Warm up”, “Rett Larson Volleyball”, appears at the top of your search. Rett achieved industry wide notoriety with a video of his warm up with the Dutch women national team including many dance moves such as the moon walk! In this discussion Rett shares the smarts under the table that has led to him being reached out by many National teams (he is now with the German national team) and other organisations such as the Australian Institute of Sport for his input and expertise not just on movement preparation, neural innovation/excitement, strength and conditioning, but also his Gold medal capacity for connection, engagement, and creativity.  Rett is creative, passionate, and humble. He shares his experiences with the teams he has worked with, fellow coaches, and a wonderful “Rocky-esque” story about an underdog by the name of Xu Lili (Lily) taking an Olympic Silver medal in Judo and the beautiful connection she & Rett shared. A fun and inspiring conversation with an industry leader who has achieved success at the pinnacle of his game with bravery, creativity, and human connection.
