I really love listening to these comic minds unpicking, experimenting, reworking jokes and puns, playing with sentences, language and words. It’s a lot of fun, with great guests. One of my favourite jokes of all time is: Q. How do you turn a duck into a soul singer? A. Put it in the microwave...Read full review »

Terrific premise, guests and riffs in a perfectly bite sized podcast. If you don’t already know Mark, the “What’s the laugh?” crowd interaction reel (currently pinned on the @Jokeswithmark Instagram) will leave you chuckling, charmed, and scampering to hit the subscribe button.

Just started listening to the podcast after seeing your show a couple of days ago. Prior to the show I was trying to think of what my hobby was, in case I was asked. The first thing that came to mind was getting piercings seems like my hobby, but maybe I’m glad I wasn’t asked because you’d...Read full review »

I could listen to Mark and Danny for hours just shooting the breeze - they are so funny and likeable. Also love hearing about the behind the curtain comedians stuff. Great guests but also love the Mark and Danny catch up episodes. Keep it up lads!

Always a happy way to spend a half or so with Mark and Danny. Warm hearted, often hilarious chats. Also a really good introduction to other comedians, untainted by any work agenda too I find, which is always refreshing. Keep it going lads!

Finally feel now I’m all up to date I can safely say this podcast is bloody brilliant. Everything from Producer Joel to Danny Ward Comedian but most of all Mark is fabulously weird. Great guests and keeps me entertained on the way to gigs and work. No need for What3Words Danny 😂 Listening to...Read full review »

I attended Gareth’s celebration last week with a group of friends from uni which was really beautiful and moving. This was a wonderful extension of that. Thank you for sharing your stories and memories and songs and somehow ending on an uplifting note. It makes it feel like he’s still here -...Read full review »

Fascinating podcast about the animation of comedy. Mark is brilliant, and his range of different types of comedians, and dissecting different types of jokes, is enlightening. Love words? Love laughs? Love this!

Mark, Usually I absolutely love your podcast but did you run out of people to guest on your podcast? Who even is Dan Fardell?!!! From a Disappointed Comedy fan.

Only found this podcast a few months ago, got to be one of the funniest shows I listen to. Have passed on to ALL my friends…

I really like this podcast. If you’re interested in the craft of stand-up comedy, it’s a fascinating and usually very funny listen. It is one the least professional and slick podcasts I’ve ever listened to, but I don’t let that spoil the enjoyment!

This show is not awkward at all. Mrs Burr losing her son Tim in a forrest is awkward…. Great Podcast.

I only found Mark Simmons 6 months ago, to be honest i thought he looked like Domnhall Gleeson who i think is well fit so i watched his instagram comedy clips and he really made me giggle Interesting to hear comedians try out their jokes with their mates before they do them live

Absolutely no skill in the art of conversation. So Many awkward silences I actually had to check my phone to make sure it hadn’t gone off of the podcast. Only listed for the Kelly Convey episode and even she sounded like she was struggling. Honestly, wouldn’t waste your time.

This is an essential listen to anyone considering stand up . Listening each week is like taking a degree course in comedy & has given me the confidence to give it a go . 1st open mike spot this week . Paul Steer

It’s good, so arkward it’s funny. Not sure that’s intentional. Mark is the perfect host because none of his jokes work.

I’m big on word play, timing and technical aspects surrounding comedy so this is the perfect podcast for me! Mark is so clever and it’s enlightening listening to comics speak about their ‘broken’ jokes.
Cole Stewart via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/08/21
Love this show, especially the banter between Joel and Mark at the beginning and end of each episode. I enjoy hearing comedians talk about why they think their jokes don’t work. It’s also cool just hearing funny people talk.

I love having this podcast in my world, it’s a joyous fix of chilled amusement whenever the mood strikes. I love this podcast. It's a fascinating look at breaking down jokes, tinkering with them and reassmbling them in a better fashion. This is a trip to sausage factory behind the art of comedy. The messy process of coming up with an idea with the intuition that there is something funny is wagging its tail. And then playing with it and ageing the meat, until it matures. The metaphorical sausage, a joke, is ready to be consumed...Read full review »

Explaining a joke is like dissecting a frog. You understand it better but it dies in the process. This starts with a dead joke, and tries to reanimate it. No live jokes are harmed in the process.
