A great listen for anyone who wants to build a theory of the law!
I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast and am so grateful to Professor Shapiro for making it. Not everyone gets to go to Yale Law, and for night-school lawyers like myself, the philosophy-of-law course offerings were few. Many lawyers like me end up participating in judicial decision-making without having done much thinking about our theory of what “law” really is, and this jurisprudence course shows how helpful that thinking can be in understanding our role. On top of that, Professor Shapiro’s delivery is extremely clear, he makes the content very accessible even if you know nothing else about legal philosophy (I didn’t)—and he’s funny! I’m writing this after listening to Episode 15, before further episodes have been posted (the course appears to be on hiatus), and I am eagerly awaiting the resumption! Thanks Professor Shapiro!
