For the recovering grad student
If, like me, your PhD programme crushed any enjoyment you derived from the written word, and, like me, you found your way back by rereading the works of Stephen King that you made your way through in your early teens, and, like me, you discovered in those works a highly idiosyncratic, often problematic, and sometimes gloriously nonsensical authorial presence which crashed through the boundaries of genre, tone and plot with either the calculating intent of a literary genius or the clumsiness of a pulp horror hack, and, like me, you found in that presence fascination, comfort and delight, then, like me, you will enjoy this podcast. It’s also good if you like it when podcast hosts set themselves a monumental and pointless task and set about completing it over many, many years.
