in the Shining episode one of them (I think cameron) said that The Shining getting a sequel would be like we got another Baldurs gate game and I just think it’s funny that both things happened . also great podcast

Finally caught up to date with this podcast! Perfect listening for pulling through my own dissertation by balancing deeply considered academic thinking with taking the cockadoodie outta that schmuck hack Bob Dylan. It reminds me that analysing genrework is fun which is a necessity!! But, anyway,...Read full review »

I’ve been listening to Ranged Touch productions for going on a year now and they are always a joy. When I started Just King Things I immediately skipped to the Pet Sematary episode because it was my first King book (read at age 11ish) and I just had to know if that loofah scene had stuck with...Read full review »

They both disdain Bob Dylan and enjoy Stephen King writing.

This is the podcast for you! Two hours into a smart, engaging discussion of an unfamiliar Stephen King work, you too may remember that you read Hearts in Atlantis or The Dark Half two decades or more ago. Incredibly useful podcast. 5 stars.

When I was young (under 10), my mother, like every other white suburban boomer mom in the early 90’s, was deep in her King/Koontz/Crichton era. And me, being the curious child I was, would ask about the books she was reading, most especially the King books that had the interesting covers (in...Read full review »

Very well done reviews of some of the greatest modern literature by an amazing writer. It’s awesome to hear these books (and sometimes films) broken down and dissected to such an intellectual degree that it’s become addicting to just finish the book to be reviewed as fast as possible just to get...Read full review »

While I don’t always agree with their opinions on the book themselves, they give thoughtful, interesting & honest reviews that often highlight things that hadn’t occurred to me. Plus the Bob Dylan Hate warms my little heart. Keep doing for Steve ✌️

You know what's sick? The scene in Phantoms (1998) where Peter O'Toole, is taunting an open manhole containing a god. It's a tense, cold, quiet scene that absolutely gripped me as a child, and I was curious as to what the hosts would think of it on its inevitable bonusode. Phantoms,...Read full review »

Stephen King is now my pub quiz specialty: a question comes up, I’m on it. Which is awkward because afterwards people are like ‘wow you must have read a lot of King’ and I have to be like ‘no, I’ve read almost nothing. it’s all podcast’. But then I get to plug this podcast, which I like to do,...Read full review »

10/10 for brainworms. They don’t buy ads, but they don’t need to. I’ve never finished a book by Stephen King (the first thing I read was Cujo and the moment I realised what was going to happen I put it down and never trusted Mr. King again) and I’m probably not going to, but I listen to this anyway.

Contrary to Cameron’s scoffing that it could possibly be a real thing, “bean-hole supper” is a real meal that was crucial to Maine’s history as a logging community. In fact, the Patten Lumbermen Museum has been hosting monthly commemorative bean-hole suppers since 1965 as a site of education and...Read full review »

while i cannot say that all of chumbawamba’s music is good, their last eight years and four albums are incredible. i spent most of last year listening to the album “the boy bands have won” on repeat and especially recommend “el fusilado” as an example of their late-career turn to acoustic folk....Read full review »

I propose the existence of a podcast where Michael and Cameron produce a ranked tier list of every song on Chumbawumba’s Tubthumper, where each episode covers one song. Call it Chumberdome.

This is a great show, they both obviously love a lot of kings work but never shy away from criticising him when he’s gone off the deep end. I’m realising I missed the majority of kings 90’s works which may not have been a bad thing. A long way to go but I’m really lloookingnfkewrd

There is nothing like reading a whole king short story collection, painstakingly notating what my favourite stories were and savouring my reactions, only for me to finally listen to the episode and realise I had the exact opposite opinion to the hosts on every single story. Five Stars.

Just got caught up and am a big fan of Steve and the Pod.
