The film reviews are purely coincidental; although Kermode's depth of knowledge about films and review style make compulsive listening, the true genius of this podcast is the banter, bickering and interaction between the host (Mayo) and his guest (Kermode) - or is it the other way around? This podcast is an enjoyable, exuberant debate about the merits of new film releases, occasionally enlivened by guest critics that include directors and others. It's nice to hear a different spin, often the polar opposite of the LA Times or Variety. Highly recommended.Read full review »
