Worth listening to in spite of flaws
My four year olds loves this podcast. A variety of stories - including some fairly difficult ones - are presented in an understandable way, and she's able to fully participate and learn from the reflection part at the end. Jessica does embellish the stories so that the children are more engaged with the action - you'll hear about Old Testament characters making chicken noodle soup and taking the wrapping paper off of presents. I usually don't mind, but there can be problems, like when OT Joseph is telling his mom and dad about his dream (his mother Rachel already died in childbirth), or when Mary and Joseph are two young people in love planning their wedding (we're Orthodox Christians who believe Joseph was an old widower and was betrothed, but never married, to Mary). My daughter picked up on these things, and talking about flaws in Bible retellings with a preschooler is a little difficult. We won't stop listening, though. My daughter really has learned a lot, is excited for each new story, and the takeaways can be so beautiful that my eyes have watered up sometimes. I'm thrilled that we found it.Read full review »

We are loving these Podcasts! As we drive to school in the morning the car is quiet and I love knowing this is the last impression they receive. The storytellers voice is captivating & her creative take on timeless truths is meeting my little ones where they relate and remember!
