Description
Meghan’s and Harry’s supporters are hard core. If you don’t believe me, take a look at some of their on-line social media accounts, Twitter in particular, where followers congregate to talk all things Meghan and Harry. Pussy cats they are not. More like lions and lionesses, protecting Meghan and Harry like they would their cubs. So, it comes as no surprise that supporters of Meghan and Harry get right behind the causes that are important to Meghan and Harry,  with followers putting their hands into their pockets to donate to various good causes. Here is an example of this in action.  On Veterans’ Day in the US Meghan and Harry visited at US Military Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, in New Jersey where Meghan and Harry invited some active servicemen and servicemen to lunch, and where Meghan and Harry also met with Afghan women and children. Fort Dix in New Jersey is currently home to some of the 10,000 Afghan refugees who are being supported by the American Department of Defense, and by volunteers from the veteran’s organization Team Rubicon  https://teamrubiconusa.org/ until such time as the families can be found permanent homes. During their visit, Meghan and Harry stopped by a classroom full of young children learning English, whereupon Meghan and Harry interacted with the kids including joining in an impromptu rendition of the children's song "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" which is apparently one of Archie's favourites. Two-days after their visit,  a tweet appeared on the Royal Suitor / R.S. Locke  https://mobile.twitter.com/royal_suitor account advising that there was a need for winter coats, footwear, clothing, craft supplies, and other items for the Afghan guests. Within minutes of the tweet, Meghan and Harry supporters were re-tweeting screen shots of photos showing receipts for the purchases that they had made in Meghan and Harry’s honour.  Once the purchases arrive at the various  military bases, Team Rubicon volunteers, the so-called 'greyshirts' will help to unpack and sort the purchases and help get them to the families that need them. Team Rubicon serves communities by mobilizing veterans to continue their service, using the skills and the experience that they acquired in the military, to help people prepare, respond, and recover from disasters and humanitarian crises. As well as helping to sort and distribute donations made for the Afghan families, Team Rubicon volunteers are building temporary housing units and are assembling furniture, serving as translators which helps families to move through the resettlement process with dignity and more quickly, and providing logistical and administrative support. I reached out to Ms. Locke who has been unofficially coordinating / monitoring the donations made by Meghan and Harry's supporters to Fort-Dix to see if she had any idea as to the total value of purchases made in Meghan and Harry’s name. As at the time of recording she was not able to tell me how much had been donated but in my estimate, looking at the Tweets, purchases ran to thousands and thousands of $$.  Meghan and Harry supporters should be proud of themselves for stepping up, and going on this mega shopping spree to help others. And thanks to Meghan and Harry for throwing some light on this need.  Please keep listening for future podcasts on all things Meghan, Harry, Archie and Lili.  You can reach out to me through my blog at https://www.kindthoughtsformeghanmarkle.com/ and on twitter https://twitter.com/JeanetteSongolo

Prince Harry was the guest in the March 4th, 2023, virtual event titled "Spare: Prince Harry in conversation with Dr. Gabor Mate." I was not sure what to expect of the event. I suspected perhaps a more intellectual review of Prince Harry’s book.  What we got was an hour and a half’s worth of...

It has been a while since you have heard from me and that is because after Harry’s PR appearances for his memoir "Spare" he and Meghan have been pretty much out of sight, no doubt still working but keeping a low profile.   I was sort of wondering whether I had got to the point of having said...
