Insightful, Funny, Terrifying
So I'm a 30-year old Catholic who finds himself more at home with radical leftists than most thinkers in his own church. I also subscribe to Commonweal. The nearest person to my age that I personally know who also has a subscription? My boomer Dad. Imagine how refreshing it was to discover these guys give a focused, intelligent, and disturbingly relevant dive into the conservative mind of power in the United States. My interests rarely overlap with political science or macroeconomics, but somehow Matt and Sam remind me that this stuff isn't just for those in my Dad's generational cohort, but that it can be surprisingly fascinating. The hosts are scholarly without being tedious and the show is information-dense in a such a way that I want to listen to episodes multiple times, rather than turn it off! If only I could go back in time to ask my father-in-law why he was a citizen activist in this movement in the 60’s.
