I received valuable, life-enriching information, reminders and practices from Yelka’s MyKume journal. For example, I was reminded about the importance of stillness—being present with myself and my emotions, noticing my own mind-body and emotion-body connections and connectedness—each with their...Read full review »

A fundamental human need is to feel seen, heard and understood. To be loved and appreciated for who we are. Paradoxically, the strategies we have developed to deal with pain trigger within our bodies an automatic reaction to close. We hide our sorrows, we deny our grief and no matter how much we...Read full review »

When I listen to your podcast, it seems to me that part of your storytelling gift is to approach a person and their story a bit like Michelangelo approached the rock from which he carved The David. Your curiosity leads you to ask questions whose answers reveal the contours of the story being told...Read full review »

Yelka elevates the power in storytelling and reflecting on critical junctures in one’s life. In a world where individuals can feel increasingly disconnected from one another, this podcast provides the intimacy and vulnerability of human connection, we’ve all been missing. Yelka has done a fascinating job navigating the diverse stories of such a diverse set of people who are featured in each episode. I find the most enjoyable part of each episode is figuring out where each persons journey is going to take the conversation — and while yes the conversations are...Read full review »

I love that this is storytelling without a prescriptive point of view. Storytelling without trying to a point to a specific lesson for listeners to learn, rather it seems the point is to share and be vulnerable which is perhaps more important and impactful.

The podcast is very intuitive and insightful, straight to the point with no frills. It certainly makes you look back at your own personal experiences and dissect those specific moments in your life where you either saw your path clearly or completely changed the course you were on. I love this idea—exploring the “turning points” in our lives, the moments that changed or shaped us—and I love the way Yelka (the host) approaches this topic. So far, she’s given such a great spotlight to BIPOC men and women, and it really inspires and uplifts me to know that the hardships that...Read full review »

Wow, cool little podcast. It was a great conversation to hear. I had to actually pullover to a park bench so that I could fully enjoy the chat; almost wanted the chime in. It felt like an actual conversation, not just an interview; very 'fly-on-the-wall' feeling. Definitely looking...Read full review »

We listen as narrators explain their own true multi-storied lives. It takes deep reflection on their part to identify and name that one crisis in their lives that brought change. Yelka supports her guests on their way there, and when the turning point appears she helps them name the values and...Read full review »

I enjoyed listening to this conversation. It takes a lot of courage and reflections on so many levels to come to an acceptance of oneself. It is something that a lot of us are still working on, as many things come up in life, and we need to navigate through them..they become part of us. The...Read full review »
