Dastan Jasim is a doctoral fellow at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies in Hamburg. Her dissertation project covers the Civic Culture of Statelessness of Kurds in Iraq, Iran, Syria and Turkey. She repeatedly worked and lived in the Kurdistan Region and published on both Kurdish Society in Kurdistan and the German Diaspora. Her parents originate from Xaneqin and Halabja and she was born in Germany.
