Great show but some questionable moments
Love the show, it’s a fascinating insight into the Victorian world and the focus on women and their experiences is really interesting. My only concern is that in the second season I’ve noticed a much more activist slant. My ears pricked when one contributor states as fact that the overturning of Roe v Wade is a white supremacist plot to uphold white power in America. Not sure what that has to do with Victorian murderesses in Australia. If it was a white supremacist plot surely stopping black women from aborting babies would be problematic? I would be interested to see statements like that being made with some element of fact/data, not just a blatant activists opinions presented as 100% true. What’s good about this show is it’s look at the lives of women in the past and how we look at them today. The woke political statements aren’t necessary. Please don’t spoil it as I love the podcast so far.

Like I got the sense the host had no idea that hanging songs were a...Read full review »
