Loved the Tinder ep!

The first episode of the new dating app season is preposterous. They extrapolate from one single individual's experience to make gigantic proclamations about society. It continues the trend of this show being anti-journalistic and ultimately silly and empty.Read full review »

This was an interesting season, featuring Facebook. However, it felt like it was heavy on slanting towards being pro Facebook and pro Mark Zuckerberg. But I appreciate the reporting and it giving us somewhat of a deep dive into Facebook’s history, it’s controversies, and the possible future the...Read full review »

I wanted to learn about the future of Facebook but instead it’s just covering the past. I was there. I want to know what on earth they are thinking with this Meta product and I haven’t gotten any info on that.

Wow, you did a phenomenal job explaining all the complexities around this challenging and emotional topic. It was the equivalent of watching an episode of Frontline. Good job.

It gives you a little more knowledge of the company shaping our reality. It does a good job of showing the goods and the bads, Google and amazon seasons are the most badass

How to state and restate the obvious and well known and spin it into 30 min. Why do i Say this? I dumped Facebook in 3014 after it breached my privacy (despite having all setting set to the max) and it allowed a stalker to track me. Despite deleting my profile it reinitiated it on me a few years...Read full review »

Since zero is not allowed, I had to go with 1 star. Why would I listen to anything that is all revisionist history, and not presenting facts? They did a WHOLE episode about the iPhone launch and the App Store, and NEVER ONCE MENTIONED WEB APPS?! Instead they try and sell this version of history...Read full review »

Funny enough I’m listening to this podcast for an economics class in college. Hands down the best part of my class is hearing this podcast and then making connections to economic ideas. This podcast is a highlight of my academic career- thank you!!!!

This podcast is such a nice addition to the superficial and general knowledge around the big tech companies. Every episode was new and unique in content and highlited a specific issue.

This is insightful, well researched, professionally created content. I wish there was more long form content like this.
ObscureBug via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 01/26/22
For me the most interesting was the one about Netflix. Who knew that Carl Icahn played a major role in Blockbusters demise!? Then for instance in the season about Google, the conversation gets a bit to much into details and becomes confusing and hard to follow!
Björn Jörn via Apple Podcasts · Germany · 01/25/22
Essential listening for tech fans and for everyone else, too. It might not change your views on Apple, Google, etc, but it does an incredible job of explaining everything about these companies and their products, their histories, costs, controversies. Never preachy, just honest, informative,...Read full review »

Land of The Giants is very well produced, researched, and interesting to listen to. If you’re interested in tech, I highly recommend a listen. One of the best podcasts I’ve found in a long time. Can’t wait for next season!

Different from earlier seasons of the Podcast, the reporting on Apple is inconsistent and biased. Tell both sides of the the story not simply those that paint a company in a negative light.

Well-made, interesting ideas…and (speaking about the Apple/iPhone season) a skewed view of tech history. When the “China Problem” is about a Taiwanese company, and no one bothers to point that out, it is either bad journalism or simply bias, or both.

Peter Kafka, who is a terrific reporter, is doing a great job explaining Apple and its leaders. I’m amazed by the number of people he got to talk to him, but the sophistication he brings to the story of Apple is no surprise. Streaming wars was decent. The newest ‘season’ about Apple is off to a pathetic start.
